What is article transfer?
Article transfer is a process for moving your paper from the journal to which it was originally submitted to another journal within the Premier Science family. The goal of this system is to help you find a place to publish your paper as quickly and smoothly as possible.
What are the benefits of article transfer?
- Increased likelihood of acceptance – most rejections are due to a paper being out of scope.
- Manuscripts can find their most ideal home with a journal whose scope is appropriate to that content.
- Save your time – rather than having to go through the trouble of submitting to another journal, your article and attachments together with any peer-reviews/editorial judgement can be considered right away by the new journal within the Premier Science family.
- Save other researchers time – peer-reviewers (potentially the same ones who already gave their opinion) won’t have to review the manuscript all over again at a new journal.
- Rapid publication – if your paper is transferred, you receive a quick decision and proceed to publication much faster. This means your precious research is available quicker and the scientific and scholarly community can benefit that much sooner.
Which papers does article transfer apply to?
All paper submitted to a Premier Science journal have the potential to be transferred.
What is the decision making and process like?
Premier Science is a collection of journals with varying scopes. Your article may be deemed more suitable for an alternate journal within the collection, rather than the one you submitted to by our Editors. If this occurs, your article will be automatically transferred to that journal along with any associated files/attachments and peer-reviews/editorial judgements.
