Aims and Scope

The Premier Journal of Case Reports (PJCR) is dedicated to the global advancement of research, education and the scholarly understanding of case reports. It aims to promote continued developments and debate through the sharing of knowledge, ideas and good practice across all healthcare. The PJS provides readers with critically peer-reviewed, carefully selected/edited and up to date publications about advances in the field that are relevant to them.

PJCR explores key areas of case-based reporting, including but not limited to:

  • Educational case reports – important lessons, reminders
  • Diagnostic challenges
  • Rare disease presentations
  • Uncommon mechanisms of injury
  • Treatment complications and outcomes
  • Innovative or experimental therapies

The articles published in the Premier Journal of Case Reports provide critical insights and forward-thinking perspectives on today’s most pressing clinical issues.

Article types – research, reviews, editorials/perspectives and correspondence-style articles will be considered.

What types of case reports can I submit to PJCR?

PJCR accepts detailed, well-documented case reports across various medical and surgical disciplines. Submissions may include, but are not limited to; educational lessons, rare diseases, unexpected treatment outcomes, novel diagnostic insights, or multidisciplinary care examples that offer valuable learning.

Does PJCR want case reports based on real-world clinical scenarios?

Yes, the Premier Journal of Case Reports (PJCR) wants submissions that document real-world clinical cases, including case reports that are educational. rare presentations, unusual injury mechanisms, and complex diagnostic or therapeutic challenges. Authors can submit their case reports through the eWorkFlow portal to contribute to clinical education and discussion.

Can I include imaging or clinical data with my PJCR submission?

Yes, PJCR encourages authors to include relevant imaging, clinical photographs, or diagnostic visuals, such as X-rays, CT or MRI scans, or ECGs, histological slides, where appropriate. These materials support clinical clarity and can be uploaded through the eWorkFlow portal  alongside the manuscript. They should all be cited within your text with appropriate legends.
