              The five branches of The facial nerve radiate like the digits of a hand, or a bird's foot
              they are sometimes referred to as The "pes anserinus" ("goose's foot").

                  the styloid process (medially) & posterior belly of digastric muscle (laterally) to
                  enter The parotid salivary gland, & divides into 5 terminal branches supplying the
                  muscles of facial expression (including platysma) and buccinator m                  K.E.W.
